Learn to knit a garment! We will be using the Flax sweater pattern by Tin Can Knits. You are welcome to make any size of sweater, but to allow for a consistent teaching experience, this is an adults only class. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY before purchasing, admission is non-refundable, but transferable.
- In order to enjoy success in this class you must be comfortable casting on, knitting and purling, and binding off. You also must be familiar with the concept of a gauge swatch and you will need to prepare one in advance of your first class.

- We will teach you: sizing and modification basics, knitting in the round, picking up stitches and basic top down raglan sweater construction.
You will need:
- Enough yarn for your estimated size. Please click the link above and download the pattern to determine this, or consult us here in the shop. Participants will get 20% off our in-store yarns, but you can use any worsted weight yarn.
Needles required: US #6 / 4 mm and US #8 / 5 mm
(or as required to meet gauge)
0 - 4 yrs: 16" circulars and DPNs in each size
4 yrs - XS: 16" circulars, 24" circulars, and DPNs in each size
S – 4XL: 16" circulars, 32" circulars, and DPNs in each size
- Notions: stitch markers, darning needle, waste yarn
The class will run: January 21 & 28 and February 18 & 25. There is a two week break in the middle to allow time to knit the body of the sweater before we proceed to next steps.
