find your inner knitwear designer in a supportive learning atmosphere. in this sister course to
shawl design 101, you will learn basic design math, why gauge swatches are important even for
accessories, and where to find inspiration and how to store it for dry spells. students are
expected to be comfortable with knitting basics. we will not be going over how to do specific
stitches, but rather how to combine stitches and do the math to create something new. suggested
knitting level is advanced beginner and up.
in the second half of class, samson will lead students through photography basics, beginning with
showing photos taken during the knitting portion and edited over the lunch break. using tools as
simple as your smart phone, learn essential elements of storytelling to elevate your social media
game.


Materials: worksheets
Students provide: 100g sock yarn, preferred sock needles (suggested 2.25mm/US 1 dpns or circulars), notebook, pen/pencil, calculator, lunch, smart phone and/or camera
Duration: 6 hours/1 day
